A Special Appeal
The Cardiac Fitness association is making a special, short term appeal to raise $45,000 in funds to help pay for a new steel roof for the clinic building. The existing roof is showing a great deal of deterioration especially on the south side of the build. (*see photo.)
There is a real possibility of a leak in the very near future, so we are hoping to begin installation as soon as possible. The decision to go with a steel roof was made because of the poor track record of shingle roofs installed during the last few decades (the current roof was installed in 2002) and the fact that the purchase of special high-quality shingles would likely approach the cost of the steel roof we have a firm quotation for.
Why a Special Fundraiser?
The reason for this special appeal is that the CFA has had to make several large purchases in the last couple of years to help maintain the property and buildings which are starting to feel the fatigue of many years of service. We replaced a storage building and two air conditioning units in 2017 and one A/C unit this year which have been a significant drain on our resources at a time when we are already feeling the pinch of rising costs. We feel that a short-term appeal with a specific goal has an excellent chance of successfully meeting the immediate need of the CFA to help maintain our clinic’s building and grounds.
We have arranged with the roofing installer to have some panels available at the clinic to receive a permanent, hand drawn signature from those able to contribute $1000 or more to the “Raise the Roof” Campaign. All contributions over $20 are eligible for a charitable donation tax receipt. Donations can be made to the staff at the clinic, please specify that you are contributing to the Raise the Roof campaign.
